Inside the studio
A place for our inspiration, events, discussions and more — Fall 2026
'Itérations' is a series of gatherings, an ongoing conversation about what art and architecture can hold when they are allowed to change. Our first event in June showcased pieces about the representation of bodies in space. Through the work of Nadège Roscoe-Rumjahn, Maude Arsenault, Wynn Holmes and The Atelier, bodies emerge, dissolve and return in new configurations. Each iteration, a refinement. Each revision, an act of survival.
"One of my favourite places to go is the hardware store. I just love going through the aisles, sourcing items that are accessible and available to everyone, and seeing how to make them beautiful—and functional too.”
Enter Panino light, whose name is inspired by the signature pressed sandwiches we make during our family-style lunches in studio. Made entirely of pieces purchased at our local quincaillerie, Panino gives light a three-dimensional quality.
A new series
Words of Wisdom is a series that looks back at the greats—cretives we admire, trailblazers or those who have shaken things up—to distill what they had to pass on.
Sol LeWitt advised his friend and fellow artist, Eva Hesse, to just DO! Explore his Words of Wisdom on how to stop overthinking, worrying and doubting.
Helen Frankethaler emphasized the importance of experimenting when creating until the “moment all frequencies are right and it hits”. Discover how.
Nina Simone sought to ouch something deep in everyone present to leave them feeling transformed, demanding their undivided attention—her own type of magic.
“Begin anywhere. (...) Chance-determined answers will open my mind to the world around (...). In the nature of the use of chance operations is the belief that all answers answer all questions.”
—John Cage
“It's important to learn how to use your small bits of time. All those begin to count up. It's not the long amounts of time you have that are important. you should learn how to use your snatches of time when they are given to you.”
— Ruth Asawa
